Tracie Steger has a rescued feral kitten, named Little Skittle, who has gone through at least 10 lives in the past few weeks and has such an amazing will to survive!
“When I bring home an animal that was in desperate need of rescue – I mentally prepare myself for the roller coaster ride of emotions through each day, hour and minute. I know that exhaustion is inevitable, heartbreak is possible, but miracles ARE achievable! So, When I’m the only thing standing alongside a fading kitten on that fine line between LIFE & DEATH – nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, is more important to me than giving all I have for the sake of giving that kitten a fighting chance at survival!”
“Skittle is doing much better – but he’ll be seeing the doctor tomorrow – because his seizures are still unpredictable and not controlled – Nothing remarkable came back in his bloodwork – was hoping for toxoplasmosis titers – because at least that is curable! But even without serological evidence – we are treating him for toxo -since he has most of the clinical signs.”
Please send a lot of purrs and prayers to lovely Skittle and Tracie. Tracie is a wonderful rescuer who has dedicated her life to saving animals. Your positive thoughts and prayers will really help her and Skittle get through this endeavor. [see more Skittle's photos and story here]

One month after he was rescued
"Animals NEVER cease to amaze me! Quietly sitting here Doing homework - as all my fur kids are cozied down for 'Sunday- afternoon-nappin' throughout the house. All of a sudden - I'm startled when WiggleButt quickly jumps off the bed- I turn & quickly noticed her ears perked straight up - & all the hair on her back is raised! I say: "what's wrong girl?" with no acknowledgment - she crouches belly down to the floor - to look under Margarita's toddler bed. Not 2 seconds later - I hear knocking around underneath -and realized what Wiggle Butt sensed! Skittles had been sound asleep not 30 minutes before - in his favorite box under that bed - and was now having ANOTHER Grand Mal seizure! Wiggle Butt's actions prove that she sensed it coming at least 30 seconds before it started! As I said -Animals Never cease to amaze me!" - Tracie

Hey to Fur-buddies here in cyberspace – - thanks so much for all the purrs and prayers – they help more than we can imagine!
Even though I’m little – The doctor is starting me on some new medicine especially for seizures – I’m not looking forward to adjusting – but will be very happy if it helps!!
UPDATE:
I’m feeling pretty good today – I had some good “floor time” playing with HuffyPuff (a VERY he1althy resqkit) – and I have to admit – I really gave her a run for her money!!!
But could someone PLEASE explain why I can’t get to the dancing leaves on the green carpet where the sun shines bright?? Every time I’d try – there was an invisible forcefield stopping me flat! (talk about OUCH to my noggin!)

I commend you on what you do with the animals. Hoping by now you have some idea of what’s causing the seizures. I do have a question about the picture of the cat with the dog though…… What is the breed of the dog? I saw the pic and immediately saw my dog. Being rescued himself I have no clue as to what he is….. Guessing part pit and part ridgeback but not sure. Can you give me a clue seeing how that dog could very well be my dogs twin. Give a little chin scratch to skittles

We figure “Wiggle-Butt” is mostly pit – with a big splash of BASENJI mixed in (although I can’t say I’ve ever seen a basenji’s running loose or mating with pit!) lol – but her physical and behavioral characteristics fit the Basenji breed than any other!

Good luck Skittles, Tracie will be in jail by Thanksgiving !!!! She’s a FRAUD and whoever falls for her BS is just gullible to her and her whining and “I’m a hero” BS !!!!
