A little update on Max and us. We are getting along fine. I was on mommy’s lap the other day and Max nuzzled in, so we shared lap time together for the first time. Max will grow out of mommy’s lap soon, so I will have her lap all to myself again.

But what the heck. He smells friendly and that’s all I care about and he is smaller than me. I always have an urge to bathe smaller animals, so I gave him a bath while mom and dad weren’t looking. He talks funny too, so we will have to teach him how to speak our language soon.

His name is Max. Mommy has been running around babysitting him day and night since day 1. What a high maintenance little baby. Soon he will learn. I want to help mom so I am always standing by little Max, making sure he is good.

When I have a friend nearby, I give him cuddles.

Humans are so silly.

There will be a big fundraiser at Friends of Felines Rescue Center. They will auction off a bunch of goodies this Sunday afternoon via their ustream channel. It’s going to be fun!

They are very cuddly and soft. I like small animals. When I was in the shelter, I looked after a litter of kittens and became their temporary “mama.” I don’t want the elephants to be by themselves so they can play and nap with me.

After she hid her last toy, mom took a picture of her, looking pretty happy about what she did. Man, I wish I had half of the energy as Lucy does. I am simply too fluffy to run around too much. I like my naps.

We celebrated Lucy’s first birthday last Saturday. Even though she is an adult now, she still looks like a kitten, but mom said best things come in small packages. I have to admit that she is pretty cool.

I got to hang out with Lucy on the deck for a few minutes. She was sitting on mom’s lap the whole time, sniffing fresh air. I think she had fun.

Mom dug out some old photos of Lucy. Wow she’s come a long way! Look at how tiny she was when she was in the shelter:

Lucy loves to give mommy kisses and head bumps every morning, afternoon, evening…. well all day. There are a few things she does best: eating, sleeping and this:

Lucy does things that even me, Shadow and Flip don’t understand. The other day, mommy caught her dancing in front of her cup. Mom said she does it every time there is a cup of water on the table or night stand. She digs and digs, but no one knows what she is digging for.

She does it to our water bowls too, that’s why mommy has to put the bowls within two larger bowls, so the water won’t spill everywhere. Lucy is a funny girl. One example is that… you know the way we wake up mom and dad in the morning… we tap their head or face with our paws, though sometimes I like to give them head bumps and kisses until they give up on sleeping, but Lucy…. her method is…. rough. She likes to get up on the night stand next to mommy and then charges up and off she jumps! And yes, she always accurately lands on mommy’s chest. Not a single miss!

The good news is it works every time! Mom often wakes up in agony, but she doesn’t complain. Now I see her sleep on her side more often.

Nippon Gambatte - Japan you can do it!

It’s been a while since our last update. Mom was going to post a new video of us last week, but got held back because of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. Mommy has a lot of friends and distant relatives in Japan, so she spent 2 days trying to find out if they were ok. We were all relieved when we got messages from them, knowing they are all fine.

Mommy has been following news on Japan and doing everything she can to help. She told us how much she wanted to go there. Mommy doesn’t even care about the nuclear thing. She thinks it is mostly fear. Most likely they will get it under control.

We want to send our purrs and prayers to all the furry and people in Japan. Hang in there. Help is on the way.

It’s been almost 8 months since Lucy moved in with us. Boy! She’s grown! As sweet as she is, she is still a mischief maker, the most hyper one around the house.

She is still the smallest little one, but don’t let her size fool you. Her personality is larger than life. We are so happy to have a sister like her. Meow!
